ONE Award Winner
Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence Award (ONE Award) finalist in the
category of Youth Development
The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits brought together the best nonprofits
in the state to honor them for their excellence and inspiration
to other nonprofits who strive for the same outstanding performance.
Honorees did not apply for the awards, but were nominated and selected
by the ONE Awards Selection Commission as one of the three best
among all similar nonprofits worthy of receiving this statewide
acknowledgement of excellence in the nonprofit community.
Joe Moran, chairman of the ONE Award Committee stated: “We’re
bringing together a group that we consider the most exceptional
nonprofits in the state for a gala awards ceremony that celebrates
excellence and showcases the truly wonderful work these groups do
every day.”
As one of the three finalists, Happy Hands was awarded $5,000.
Samaritan Award Finalist
Happy Hands was of the 2007 Samaritan Award winners that were highlighted
in the September issue of WORLD magazine. We were profiled as having
“Effective Compassion” and were voted one of the top
13 charities in the nation for “doing some of the hardest
work in America.” The Acton Institute reported that there
were 311 applicants competing for this award. Visit www.worldmag.com!
